Meet The Newest Team Member

Hello to all of you Honey Girl Farms fans! My name is Chelci Cowan, and I am the newest member of the HGF team. I will be helping out with some of the social media postings, as well as the occasional newsletter.

I have been an avid user and collector of Honey Girl Farms yarns for about 4 years now. My love for Shannah’s yarns began with my very first purchase, which happened to be from her Harry Potter inspired collection. I was instantly hooked ( no pun intended )! I am a member of the Harry Potter Yarn Club, and I love that monthly dose of the wizarding world I grew up with! I love to read, and I love having yarns to go with some of my favorite books.

I am a knitter, with the occasional crochet project thrown in. One skein wonder projects are my favorite! They are perfect for showcasing that beautiful, unique skein of yarn you’ve bought without a project in mind first.

Aside from my crafting, I am a mother of two wonderful little boys. They have learned to appreciate yarn from a very young age, and they get just as excited as I do when squishy mail arrives. They love to snuggle and squish my yarn while I’m working on a project. My oldest is even learning how to help me wind a hank of yarn into a cake!

I was a stay at home mom for three years before I began my job as a music teacher at a private music school. At the school I give private lessons, and direct a youth orchestra. My main instrument is saxophone, but I enjoy playing many different instruments. My passion for music has led to some incredible life experiences, including a choir performance onstage at Carnegie Hall in NYC. That is one experience that will stay with me for a lifetime!

I am so excited to be joining the team at Honey Girl Farms! I’m looking forward to interacting with everyone via social media, and sharing updates with you in future newsletters.

Since we are all fiber fanatics, I’ll end with a picture of a recent project. This “Close To You” shawl is one of those one skein wonders I was talking about. I did this one in “House Targaryen” from the Game Of Thrones inspired collection.
